InspectSync gives technicians two ways to work in the field: a mobile app for phones and tablets, and a web-based field app that runs in any modern browser. Both connect to the same account, so every inspection completed in the field is immediately available to the office.
Two ways to work in the field
| Mobile app | Web field app | |
|---|---|---|
| Runs on | iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets | Any modern browser on a laptop, tablet or phone |
| Installation | Download from the App Store or Google Play | Nothing to install; sign in and go |
| Best for | Technicians working on a phone or tablet all day | Shared devices, laptops in the truck, or companies that don't manage mobile apps |
| Your data | Same account, same inspections, same forms | Same account, same inspections, same forms |
Technicians can use whichever fits the job, and the office sees the same results either way.
What technicians do in the field
Work through each visit in order. Every visit is organized as inspections, then systems, then forms, then individual assets. A technician always knows what is done and what is left.
Get the right forms automatically. InspectSync selects forms based on the system, the equipment type and subtype, and the code year and jurisdiction that apply to the building. Technicians don't hunt for the right form, and the office doesn't maintain lookup sheets.
Never fill out the same thing twice. Form generation only fills gaps. It never duplicates a form that has already been answered. Answers that don't change between inspections, such as equipment details, pre-fill from the last inspection.
Record results the way inspections actually work. Forms support 14 question types. Along with yes/no, pass/fail, numeric and date fields, they include:
- System Check: visual and functional checks, a pass/fail result and comments, captured in one question
- Notification Check: whether the monitoring company or another party was notified, who was notified, and when
Document deficiencies on the spot. Technicians record each deficiency against the specific system and asset where they found it.
Finish with a complete report. When a visit is complete, InspectSync assembles the completed forms, device results and deficiencies into a PDF report, branded with your company's logo and contact details.
Works on the devices you already have
The web field app runs in a browser, so your team can start on the laptops and tablets they already carry. Technicians who prefer a dedicated app can install the mobile app on their phone or tablet. Both work from the same account.
One system for the field and the office
Everything a technician records goes straight into the same InspectSync account the office uses, with no exports, uploads or re-keying.
Frequently asked questions
Do my technicians need the mobile app, or can they use a browser?

Do technicians have to choose the correct inspection form?
No. InspectSync picks forms based on the system, the equipment type, and the code year and jurisdiction for the building.
