Inspect Point is an established inspection, service and invoicing platform for fire protection contractors, in business since 2014 and backed by a growth investment in 2022. InspectSync is a different kind of product: the system a fire protection company runs the whole business on, from the sales pipeline and the agreements that generate the inspection jobs, through scheduling, the inspection, the report, the deficiencies and the repair quote, to installation projects, billing, inventory, fleet, timesheets and the forecast, all on one set of records. Teams that move from Inspect Point are usually not leaving because the inspections do not work; they are leaving because of the devices it runs on, how its plans are packaged, or because they want the rest of the company in the same system as the findings. Everything stated here about Inspect Point was read from Inspect Point's own website or a named review site on 22 October 2026.
Why teams look for an Inspect Point alternative
- Apple devices only. Inspect Point's field app is native iOS, there is no Android app, and the company's own plan FAQ says your company purchases its own iPads. Shops whose technicians carry Android phones, or that do not want a second device per truck, look elsewhere.
- No public pricing and a technician minimum. There is no public price list; pricing is set by team size and trades, plans start at three technicians (or one or two with more than 400 inspections a year), and enterprise plans start at fifteen. Smaller shops, and owners who want a number before the demo, look elsewhere.
- Capabilities gated by plan. Proposals built from deficiencies require the Gold plan; service work orders, phone support and API access require Platinum. A shop that wants to quote repairs from the field on the entry plan cannot.
- Report and proposal customisation. Reviewers on more than one site describe limits on tailoring reports and proposals, with backflow reports and photo handling mentioned; Inspect Point's replies to those reviews in January 2026 say the areas have since been improved, so check the current state against your own forms.
- The rest of the company lives elsewhere. Inspect Point's public material covers inspections, deficiencies, proposals, work orders, invoicing and payments. Teams that also want recurring contracts generating their jobs, installation project tracking, inventory by truck, fleet, timesheets and forecasting on the same records are looking for a broader platform.
What Inspect Point does well, by its own account and by the review sites: a deep form library across NFPA, ULC, Joint Commission and DNV standards; inspections that run offline on an iPad; submissions to AHJ portals including The Compliance Engine, IROL, LivSafe and FDNY; integrated card, debit and ACH payments with no setup or monthly fee; QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Sage 100 Contractor and ComputerEase connections; and the scale to run more than a thousand technicians on one instance. If those are your constraints, Inspect Point may be the right tool.

The table covers the ground the two products share. Beyond it, InspectSync includes the Contracts that generate the jobs and invoice themselves, Projects for installation work with hours against the estimate, CRM with a sales pipeline and national accounts above their buildings, Billing with a queue, ledger, aging and credit hold, Operations for inventory by van, extinguisher stock, fleet, timesheets and PTO, and Analytics with month-end review, forecasts and AI analysis, every one of them in the same plan and on the same records. None of this is part of how Inspect Point describes its own product.
Switching to InspectSync: what migration looks like
- What comes across. Customers, buildings, contacts, systems, assets and extinguishers are imported from spreadsheets through the import pages in the CRM module. Inspect Point's plan FAQ says you receive a full export of your data before the account closes.
- Historical notes and files. Notes and documents from your previous system are loaded onto the Legacy tab of the national account, customer or building they belong to, so the history is one click from the record rather than in an archive folder.
- Your templates. When the account is set up, InspectSync creates branded Word templates for the service report, service quote, proposal, invoice and contract from your company details, and a setup scorecard shows which configuration tables still need attention before the first inspection, service or installation can run.
